Informal Recruitment

What is “COB”

Recruitment in the spring is still a mutual-selection process, but it is not formal, it’s also called Continuous Open Bidding or “COB.” The College Panhellenic Council will organize a "sorority fair" for those organizations participating in spring recruitment, but after that it is up to individual chapters to plan and promote events. Please note that due to how total chapter membership works, not all sororities are guaranteed to be able to recruit in the spring. The fall is the best time to maximize your options!

Follow @uofusororities and each chapter’s individual instagrams for more information about spring recruitment.

Where to Start?

There is no registration required for Spring COB! Not all chapters are participating in the COB process so, individual chapters will post on their instagram accounts ways to connect, events they’re holding, or interest forms, it is up to you to choose which events you attend.

Eligibility

Students looking to participate in informal recruitment must meet these requirements:

  • Enrolled as a full time student (12 credit hours)

  • Has not signed a MRABA

If you are offered a bid…

If you are offered a bid during the COB process, you can either accept or decline the bid. If you choose to decline the bid you can still continue with the COB process with the other chapters, or you can stop the COB process
