University of Utah Panhellenic Association
Dear PNMs,
My name is Alejandra Nelsen, and I can’t express how excited I am for you to begin this journey. The decision to go through recruitment can be a daunting one but let me reassure you that it is the best decision you could have made. If I could go back to three years ago and do it all again I would in an instant. In all honesty though, three years ago I was convinced that recruitment wasn’t for me. As a first-generation college student, I was unsure of what sorority life would bring me and if I would fit into the picture of it all. Despite this I went into recruitment with an open mind, and I can confidently say I found my home away from home. These women that I have the privilege of calling my sisters have been my biggest support system during my time at the U. I can’t imagine what my time here would have been like if I didn’t have these compassionate, driven women in my life. Through recruitment not only will you have an opportunity to find a family in your future chapter, but through our Panhellenic community as well.
As you look to begin your journey through recruitment, I implore you to go in with an open heart. Take this time to make genuine connections with the women around you. Be your most authentic self! We want to get to know you for your truest self. And most importantly, trust the process! You will hear this again and again, but the place you are meant to be will find you. Every chapter on our campus offers a strong sisterhood that will be welcoming of each one of you. I am so excited to watch you all take on recruitment and find your forever home, and to welcome you into our Panhellenic community.
Alejandra Nelsen, University of Utah Panhellenic President
